    2024 Sarazen Commemorative

On Tuesday, August 27th Pound Ridge will host the 2024 Sarazen Commemorative, a two man Stableford best ball, with both net and gross prizes. The tournament starts with a 1 p.m. shotgun start, with lunch, golf, and cocktails and awards to follow.

Gene Sarazen’s ties to Westchester County are many. He grew up in Harrison, NY and caddied at the Apawamis Club prior to moving to Bridgeport, CT. He worked at Brooklawn Country Club, where he obtained a sponsor, Archer Wheeler. Sarazen won the PGA and US Open in 1922 to begin the Grand Slam.

In 1935, Sarazen hit the “Shot Heard Around The World”, holing a four wood on hole 15 at Augusta National in the second Masters. Sarazen parred 16, 17 and 18 to tie Craig Wood, and went on to beat him in an 18 hole playoff for the Masters title the next day.

Plan holders will have two-week exclusive access to sign up for this event, so please do so at your earliest convenience.

Please submit your single or twosome registration below. Your registration is complete once we receive your form submission and your payment.

The entry fee is $350.00, of which $100.00 benefits the Gene and Mary Sarazen Foundation, a 501-C 3. Proceeds will go toward scholarships.
